Matlatzin - the woman we are not told about in any official version of the history of the conquest of the Americas. We know about Malitzin, Malinche, the traitor, the woman who fell madly in love with the chief of the European expedition.

I am not interested in Malinche, on the contrary i believe it is time we learn to honour her counterpart, the great WARRIOR MATLATZIN, the young woman Hernan Cortez hated so much. Hernan Cortez named this heroic warrior, 'la perra', the bitch, and he never conquered her ! ! !

Matlatzin was young when the war started; she was strong and extremely intelligent, her name was related to the BLUE WATER and the LAST WOMAN and her life energy to the BLUE BUTTERFLY.

Matlatzin was the commander in chief of the Aztec forces against Hernan Cortez; when Matlatzin finally had to accept defeat against Hernan Cortez, she had only one eye left, many of the fingers of her hands were missing, she was a ghost of the young woman full of energy she once was. Matlatzin was destroyed slowly but relentlessly as it was the great city she was born: TENOCHTITLAN, but Matlatzin didn't not stop.

Matlatzin defended TENOCHTITLAN against the invaders until there was nothing left to defend, everything was completely destroyed; the great city of the Aztecs was gone for ever. Almost all the sacred books were burnt and their gold-covers were melted and distributed amongst the victorious aggressors and sent to Europe.

Matlatzin recommended Moctezuma from the beginning "we have to stop this invasion from the root. If we do not act now we will regret it later, and later will be too late". This is what Matlatzin told Moctezuma when he was still delivering what to do about these newcomers; but all the signs coincided with the sacred books, these were gods!

what to do, what to do?

Moctezuma decided to offer hospitality to the gods and the rest is history . . . the sad history of conquest and destruction of our LANDS, the sad history of dispossession, oppression, racism and exploitation, that hasn't finished to this day.
